Rheumatism: Symptoms, Causes and Natural Remedies of Rheumatism

RheumatismRheumatism is an overall word used in describing many conditions affecting muscles, bones, joints, ligaments and tendons. Any disease related to this kind has something to do with swelling of the joints also called Arthritis.


Aging and infection from bacteria like sinusitis, tonsillitis, gonorrhea and even tooth decay will cause this. Coffee, alcohol, tobacco or cigarettes and some stimulants also triggers rheumatism to arise. Eating of white bread, cakes, sugar starches, and all flesh meats. Remember, wrong diet gives poison to the body and fills the body with uric acid. When all waste matters are not eliminated by the liver, kidneys and bladder, then the pain starts.


There is stiffness and pain in the body muscles, joints and other parts of the body. There is an increase in pain when you try to move the affected parts.


First thing to do is to treat the root cause of the problem. Stop all wrong diets to avoid accumulating acid deposits in your body. Foods like artificial and unnatural white breads, coffee, spaghetti, biscuits, cakes, ice creams, fried potatoes, liquor drinking, smoking, etc (acid forming foods). It is recommended to eat plenty of these alkalizing foods like potato, banana, soybeans, carrots, coconuts, cucumber, cabbage, broccoli, avocado, radish, eggplant, lettuces and mushrooms. It is also advice to just eat a little on white rice because this has also uric acid, instead eat plenty of potato, sweet potato, banana, yam(ube). Almond milk are also good for this hardened muscles and joints. Prepare fresh and drink 1 glass every morning and night.

If you have constipation, drink plenty of juices from lemon, carrots, orange and celery to obtain clean and healthier blood and to avoid the problem of eliminating toxins from the body.

Juices for Treatment:
•    Juice of ½ lemon in a glass of warm water, then
•    Carrots 8 ounces, celery 8 ounces
•    Carrots 8 ounces, orange 8 ounces
•    Carrots 6 ounces, beet 5 ounces, cucumber 5 ounces
•    Carrot 6 ounces, beet 5 ounces, celery 5 ounces.

To relieve the pain, a piece of ginger may be heated then crushed and apply to the affected part while still warm.   It is important to remember that rheumatism will not go away unless there is a change of diet and lifestyle. All medicines offered by medical sciences and even natural remedies can only do little to a patient who is not willing to perform corrections to help himself.

The fact is, it is not so important what disease or illness a person can have but of what kind of the person who has the disease and illness. The important thing is, not the kind of treatment but the correction of bad habit, lifestyle and diet that he is willing to perform.
